Divine love is not merely a theological concept to be understood intellectually; it is a tangible, heavy substance to be received experientially. The Holy Spirit literally pours the unconditional, overwhelming, and fierce love of God directly into our frail human hearts. This specific dispensation of love is the exact medicine required to provide profound emotional and spiritual healing, completely restoring the fractures in our humanity caused by trauma and rejection.
When the Spirit dispenses this love, it entirely washes away our insecurities and our desperate need for human approval. Furthermore, we cannot possibly love the unlovable people in our region using our own shallow reservoirs of affection. We must ask the Spirit to pour God’s love into us so heavily that it naturally overflows onto our families, our coworkers, and our enemies. Open your heart wide today, and ask the Spirit for a massive, tangible outpouring of the Father’s affection.
Prayer:
Holy Spirit, I ask that You would literally pour the overwhelming, unconditional love of God directly into my frail heart today. Let this tangible substance provide profound emotional healing, washing away all my insecurities, past traumas, and fears of rejection.
Fill my shallow reservoirs to overflowing. Give me such a massive infusion of the Father’s affection that it naturally and effortlessly spills over onto my family, my coworkers, and even my enemies, allowing me to love them with Your perfect love. Amen.
