Day 50 | PENTECOST SUNDAY, May 24

Day 50 | PENTECOST SUNDAY, May 24

The Spirit makes some overseers in the church and sends some out to the work of church planting [through the body] (Acts 20:28; 13:2).

Reflection:

The ultimate, glorious culmination of the Holy Spirit’s work is not merely a static personal blessing, an emotional high, or a comfortable church service. The true culmination of Pentecost is a dynamic, explosive, and apostolic commissioning. The Spirit actively identifies, specifically anoints, and aggressively sends believers out into the world to plant churches, boldly govern the body as overseers, and relentlessly expand the borders of the everlasting kingdom.

Today, on Pentecost Sunday, we celebrate that the Spirit empowers us to fulfill the Great Commission. He is sending us out of our comfortable buildings to impact the Adelaide Hills and beyond with the unconditional love and transforming power of Jesus. The tomb is empty, the Spirit has fallen, and you are fully authorized to release His glory. Step out today to minister, to govern, to plant, and to relentlessly push back the darkness until the entire earth is filled with His glorious presence!

Prayer:

Lord of the Harvest, here I am, send me! On this Pentecost Sunday, I ask that You would baptize me afresh in Your Holy Spirit and fire, and grant me a dynamic, explosive, and apostolic commissioning for the work of the ministry.

Send me out of my comfort zone to relentlessly expand the borders of Your everlasting kingdom in the Adelaide Hills and beyond. Give me the profound authority to govern, to plant, and to constantly release Your glorious presence into every sphere of influence until the whole earth sees Your glory! Amen.
