Day 39 | Wednesday, May 13

Day 39 | Wednesday, May 13

The Spirit says “Come, Lord Jesus” along with the bride (Rev. 22:17).

Reflection:

The church was never meant to be comfortably assimilated into the present, fallen world order. The Holy Spirit actively generates a deep, agonizing eschatological homesickness within the Bride of Christ. He aligns our hearts with the rhythms of heaven, causing us to recognize that this broken world, with its disease, injustice, and death, is not our final home. The Spirit causes the church to passionately and continuously cry out for the triumphant, visible return of the Eternal King.

This cry of “Come, Lord Jesus” is the ultimate expression of our hope. We know that the kingdom, which began in the ministry of Jesus, will only be fully consummated upon His visible return, resulting in the final defeat of Satan and the recreation of a new heaven and earth. Let this eschatological longing drastically shape your priorities today. Live with a fierce, eager expectation of His return, dedicating your life to stewarding revival and preparing the way for the King.

Prayer:

Come, Lord Jesus\! Holy Spirit, I ask that You would generate a deep, eschatological homesickness within my soul today. Align my heart entirely with the rhythms of heaven, and keep me from becoming too comfortable in this fallen world.

I eagerly anticipate the triumphant, visible return of the Eternal King to consummate His kingdom and definitively crush the enemy. Let this profound longing dictate my priorities today, fueling my passion to steward revival and prepare the way for Your glorious arrival. Amen.
