Day 27 | Friday, May 1

Day 27 | Friday, May 1

The Spirit transforms us into the image of Christ (2 Cor. 3:18).

Reflection:

As we intentionally behold the glory of the Lord—through unhurried worship, deep contemplation of Scripture, and experiencing His presence—we are not left unchanged. The Holy Spirit executes a progressive, undeniable metamorphosis within us. He actively and aggressively chips away our abrasive worldly character, our selfishness, and our pride, systematically replacing them with the radiant, glorious image of Jesus Christ. We become what we continually behold.

The ultimate goal of this transformation is to bring us into a deeper, unmistakable likeness of the Author of our faith. This means that over time, our reactions, our love for the marginalized, and our patience under trial should mirror the exact responses of Jesus. If we want to impact our region with love and power, we must allow the Spirit to do this deep, internal architectural work. Invite Him today to expose the areas of your character that do not look like Christ, and surrender them to His transforming fire.

Prayer:

Lord, as I intentionally behold Your glory in worship and in the Word, I ask that You would profoundly change me. Transform my character, my habits, and my default reactions to look exactly like the radiant image of Jesus Christ.

I surrender the ugly, selfish, and prideful areas of my heart to Your transforming fire. Chip away everything within me that is worldly, and mold me into a pure vessel that accurately reflects Your unconditional love to my region. Amen.
