Day 16 | Monday, April 20

Day 16 | Monday, April 20

The Spirit brings unity and oneness to the body (Eph. 4:3; 2:14-18).

Reflection:

The trinitarian life of God is defined by perfect, unbroken, and harmonious unity. The Holy Spirit is the very relational life that unites the Father and the Son, and He plays this exact same unifying role within the architecture of the local church. Therefore, the absolute greatest, most unfalsifiable evidence of the Spirit’s authentic presence in a community is not dramatic miracles or flashy worship, but unbreakable, sacrificial love and unity among its diverse members.

At Glorify, we say we are “Better Together”. When the Spirit is truly operating, He permanently binds individuals together in an intense, hospitable love that transcends personal preferences and disagreements. He empowers us to bear each other’s burdens, confess our sins, and submit to one another. The counterfeit kingdom uses conflict and offense to destroy churches, but the Spirit of unity builds an impenetrable fortress. Today, actively pursue unity by laying down your pride, forgiving an offense, and choosing to aggressively love your church family.

Prayer:

Holy Spirit, I thank You that You are the divine glue that binds our church family together. I ask that You would cultivate a deep, unbreakable unity among us, reflecting the perfect love that exists between the Father and the Son.

Help me to actively protect the unity of our church by laying down my pride, refusing to harbor offenses, and choosing to fiercely love my brothers and sisters. Make us a community that is truly better together, standing firm against the enemy’s attempts to divide us. Amen.
