Day 9 | Monday, April 13

Day 9 | Monday, April 13

The Spirit fills us (Eph. 5:18; Acts 2:4; 4:8, 31; 9:17).

Reflection:

Unlike the one-time historical event of our initial salvation, the filling of the Holy Spirit is a continuous, repeated necessity for every believer. Just as our physical bodies must continually draw breath to sustain biological life, our spirits must constantly yield to the Holy Spirit to maintain spiritual vitality, joy, and peace. Yesterday’s filling is entirely insufficient for today’s battles. We leak, we grow weary, and the pressures of the world constantly attempt to drain our spiritual reserves.

This constant, daily filling is the ultimate antidote to spiritual burnout and ministry fatigue. It is the essential fuel required for sustaining a church culture characterized by ongoing revival, miracles, and deep family connection. When we command ourselves to be continually filled, we are essentially positioning our hearts in a posture of absolute dependency, acknowledging that apart from Him, we can do nothing. Take time today to intentionally empty yourself of worry and stress, asking the Spirit for a fresh, overwhelming inundation of His presence.

Prayer:

Lord, I deliberately empty myself of my own strength, my worries, and my self-reliance. I acknowledge that I cannot face the challenges of this day using yesterday’s grace. Fill me fresh and anew with Your Holy Spirit right now.

Let Your presence overflow within my soul, restoring my joy, renewing my mind, and providing the spiritual vitality I need to thrive. Keep me in a constant posture of dependency, always drinking deeply from the well of Your living water. Amen.
