Day 5 | Thursday, April 9

Day 5 | Thursday, April 9

The Spirit reveals Christ to us and in us (John 16:14-15).

Reflection:

Beyond the external glorification of Jesus, the Holy Spirit performs a deeply internal, miraculous work: He makes the historical reality of Jesus an intimate, present-day experience within our own souls. The Spirit takes the profound events of Christ’s life—His incarnation, His powerful ministry, His crucifixion, and His total victory over Satan—and brings them directly into our personal experience. Because of the Holy Spirit, the grand history of Jesus Christ actually becomes our own story.

This internal revelation ensures that our faith is never reduced to mere intellectual assent or historical agreement. It becomes a living, breathing encounter. The Spirit unites us so closely to Jesus that Christ’s life is actually manifested within our mortal bodies. When we face temptation, the Spirit reveals Christ’s overcoming power in us. When we face grief, He reveals Christ’s deep compassion. Today, take a moment of quiet reflection to allow the Spirit to make the reality of Jesus brilliantly clear and active within your heart.

Prayer:

Lord Jesus, I ask that You would reveal Yourself to me freshly and intimately today. Holy Spirit, take the historical truth of the cross and the resurrection and make it a living, breathing reality deep within my own soul.

Let the life, power, and character of Christ be made visibly manifest in me. Help me to truly comprehend that I am united with Jesus, and that His victory over the darkness is now my victory through Your indwelling presence. Amen.
