The Spirit regenerates us (John 3:5-8; Titus 3:5).
Reflection:
One of the most foundational pillars of our culture at Glorify is living in a continuous response to grace. This requires a profound understanding that salvation is not merely a program for moral improvement; it is a radical, supernatural rebirth. The Holy Spirit literally breathes entirely new life into our spiritually deceased frames. Through this regeneration, the Spirit permanently eradicates our old, sinful nature. Our old life, with its addictions, failures, and selfish desires, is considered completely dead and buried with Christ.
Because the Spirit has regenerated us, we are no longer bound to the heavy, exhausting yoke of trying to earn God’s favor through legalistic religious works. We are a brand new creation, supernaturally transitioned from citizens of a fallen world into authorized sons and daughters of God. Embracing this truth completely changes how we view ourselves. We must stop identifying with our past failures and start living out of the absolute freedom that comes from being entirely reborn by the breath of the Spirit.
Prayer:
Thank You, Holy Spirit, for the miraculous gift of regeneration. I praise You that my old, sinful nature has been completely eradicated and that I am a brand new creation, fully alive in the grace of Jesus Christ.
Help me to live today in the profound reality of this rebirth. Whenever the enemy tries to remind me of my past or pull me back into legalistic striving, remind my spirit that my old life is dead and my new life is hidden in You. Amen.
