Day 48 | Friday, May 22

Day 48 | Friday, May 22

The Spirit brings things to our remembrance (John 14:26).

Reflection:

Spiritual amnesia is a constant, highly dangerous threat to the believer living in a distracted, chaotic age. We easily forget the massive miracles God has done for us, and we lose our grip on His promises the moment a new crisis hits. The Holy Spirit serves as the infallible, divine memory of the church. He actively brings to our remembrance all the teachings, promises, and commands of Jesus precisely at the exact millisecond we need them most.

When you are navigating a sudden crisis, facing an intense temptation to compromise, or sitting in a difficult pastoral counseling opportunity, the Spirit will seamlessly pull the exact scripture or truth you need from the archives of your soul to the forefront of your mind. Trust His timing today. Fill your mind heavily with the Word of God, knowing that the Spirit will faithfully recall it as a vital weapon exactly when the battle requires it.

Prayer:

Lord, I confess that in the midst of chaos and distraction, I suffer from spiritual amnesia and easily forget Your profound promises. I ask that the Holy Spirit would act as my infallible, divine memory today.

When I face a sudden crisis, an intense temptation, or a difficult conversation, seamlessly bring the exact teachings and scriptures of Jesus to the forefront of my mind. Let Your recalled Word act as a sharp weapon to defeat the enemy and sustain my faith. Amen.
