Day 45 | Tuesday, May 19

Day 45 | Tuesday, May 19

The Spirit moves us (2 Pet. 1:21).

Reflection:

The entire, infallible library of Scripture was not generated by human imagination, but by ordinary men who were powerfully moved and carried along by the Holy Spirit. This exact same Spirit, with the exact same power, continues to move dynamically upon the hearts of believers today. He prompts us toward unexpected acts of bold faith, spontaneous prophetic declarations, and continuous, radical obedience to the living Word of God.

When the Spirit moves us, He often interrupts our comfortable, perfectly planned schedules. He may move you to generously bless a stranger financially, to pull your car over to pray for someone, or to make a difficult phone call of reconciliation. We must cultivate a lifestyle of instant obedience to these internal movements. Today, pay close attention to the sudden, holy impulses in your heart, and have the profound courage to immediately obey the next step of faith He asks you to take.

Prayer:

Holy Spirit, You are the exact same power that moved upon the authors of Scripture, and I ask that You would move dynamically upon my heart today. Interrupt my comfortable, meticulously planned schedule with Your divine, holy impulses.

Give me the profound courage to immediately and radically obey the spontaneous steps of faith You ask me to take. Whether it is a nudge to radical generosity, a prophetic word, or a prayer for a stranger, let me move exactly when You move. Amen.
