The Spirit makes us (corporately) God’s habitation (Eph. 2:22).
Reflection:
Under the old covenant, God’s presence was confined to a geographical temple built meticulously by human hands. Under the new covenant, the Holy Spirit serves as the divine architect, meticulously building the corporate gathering of believers together, living brick by living brick, to form a magnificent, spiritual dwelling place. It is in this radical, corporate unity that the heavy glory of God can tangibly reside and be encountered by the surrounding community.
This profound truth elevates the importance of the local church far above a mere social club or weekend event. When we gather together on a Sunday morning or in our Deep Groups, we are actively constructing the habitation of God. If we remain isolated, the temple remains fragmented. Commit today to prioritizing your church community. Bring your specific gifts, your worship, and your love to the gathering, knowing that you are an essential living stone required to host the presence of the King.
Prayer:
Lord, I thank You that You no longer dwell in buildings made by human hands, but that You have chosen to make our corporate church family Your glorious habitation. Thank You for making me an essential living stone in this spiritual house.
Help me to highly prioritize my church community and my Deep Group. Bind us together tightly with Your Spirit, so that we can successfully host Your heavy glory and be a beacon of Your presence to the entire Adelaide region. Amen.
